Some good news on the music front: Gloria Estefan is recording a jazz-inspired album!
According to NBC Latino, Gloria will soon release her jazz-inspired album “The Standards” – a project which has been a dream of hers and has been years in the making. It is finally slated to release on September 10, 2013. Gloria says she grew up listening to Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis and Henry Mancini, and this is her chance to delve into her jazzy self. One of the songs on her 13-track bilingual album she’s especially excited about is a 1920′s tango by Buenos-Aires-born Carlos Gardel, called “El Dia Que Me Quieras” (“The Day You Say You Love Me”). This Latin American classic has been sung in Spanish by many performers, including Luis Miguel.
