There is a growing movement in Latin America, and for the first time, it’s in favor of gay & lesbians…a first for traditionally Catholic countries such as those in Latin America.

According to The Huffington Post, Argentina was one of the first countries to approve same-sex marriages in the Latin Americas. In addition, shortly after Obama was inaugurated, Chile passed a “non-discrimination” law prohibiting the discrimination against gay and lesbians…the first of its kind in Latin America. While Latin America is still not a “gay paradise” (many countries in Central America still actively, and violently, discriminate against gays & lesbians), there are signs that these laws are the mark of more progressive things to come.
