Latina.com is reporting that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences — AMPAS — was under a lot of pressure from various Latino actors, and other folks, in a grassroots campaign after she was not included in the “In Memoriam” section of the live telecast of the Oscars. As a result, they included her in the online tribute, which you can see here. However, the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts has noted that Ontiveros was not a member of the “Academy,” & therefore, she was originally excluded.
