Bronx rapper Fat Joe paid tribute to the late Chris Lighty in song. Joey Crack felt he needed to pay his respects to the legendary hip-hop manager who signed him to his first record deal. Joe credits Lighty with saving his life. Lighty recently died as a result of of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Fat Joe hopped on Slaughterhouse‘s track “Goodbye” to express his sadness which was produced by Boi-1da. Slaughterhouse’s version appears on their Shady Records debut album “welcome to:OUR HOUSE.”

Fat Joe opens the track with a jarring statement, “I got pictures on 42nd Street with 20 people in it. Everybody dead but me.” Fat Joe’s verse commemorating Lighty fits right in with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce Da 5’9‘s bars reflecting on the lives of people they lost.
