The Huffington Post has the story: Zavala has been under fire for quite some time now on account of his anti-gay remarks (amongst the claims: that being gay is “a sin,” and a “deviation of conduct”), much to the dismay of the LGBT community worldwide. Finally, “Ecuadorian judge Patrio Baca determined the religious leader will be banned from any affiliation to a political or governmental movement for a year. He will also have to pay a fine of little over $3,000, and can be also sentenced for a hate crime, El Universal reports.”
Zavala is unmoved, saying he has “no regrets” for the statements he’s made.
