The NY Times is reporting that, in addition to calling for world peace — including reduced aggressiveness on the part of North Korea — and an end to such crimes as human trafficking, he called for Catholics to be “responsible guardians of all creation.” “How much suffering must there still be before a political solution to the crisis will be found?” he said of the civil war in Syria and that has created more than a million refugees.
